It's been a few weeks since we've shared anything on here.
We've been eating a lot of the same stuff really so we didn't have much to share.

Any who, today marks our 2 month anniversary of living Paleo.
Woo! I am so proud of us! We have lost a combined 25 pounds!
How awesome is that!?!

30 day review

Hello!

Today we completed our first 30 day challenge of living Paleo. At first glance we thought it would be difficult but to our surprise it was not. After the first week everything fell into place and became a routine. Following the guide lines of "everyday Paleo" we workout three or four times a week, which consisted of walking for 30 minutes and heavy lifting. One surprise we did have was that peanut butter was NOT Paleo.

Spicy Black Peppered Salami Chicken Soup

Today's recipe is Spicy Black Peppered Salami Chicken Soup.

Hello everyone,

One of the problems while living Paleo is meal prepping. One of the easiest meals to make is soup.

Steak Recipe

Hello everyone,

Today will be posting about one of my favorite Paleo meals. As a guy it may be a little predictable, but the version of steak dinner I usually make is one of my favorites. It is very simple to make and can be tailored to anyone's taste. Let us start with the steak; the night before, I season the steak with fresh ground black pepper and sea salt ,then cover it then place it in the fridge.

To cook it I use a cast iron skillet, but first take out the steak an hour before cooking it so it will cook at room temp. I heat the skillet for about five minutes or until I know that the skillet is hot. I lightly brush the steak with olive oil, then place it on the skillet, I like mine cooked medium, so I cook mine a total of 8 minutes and only turn it once while cooking. If you prefer a well done steak I would cook it for 10 minutes or if  rare I would cook it for 6 minutes. Always let the steak sit for a few minutes before cutting it.

As a Paleo plate I usually pair it with steamed broccoli and cauliflower, half an avocado, and a small peach. Another version I use is sweet potato in place of the veggies to give a sweeter taste.  For now that is my number one to go dish. Thanks for reading and if you have any comments or questions don't hesitate to ask.

Why Paleo?

Hello Everyone!

Melvin and I decided to start a blog to track our journey into living 100% Paleo.
We have both struggled with our weight our entire lives, constantly being in search of a healthier lifestyle and we stumbled upon Paleo.

What is Paleo?

Eating Paleo refers to eating like our ancestors once did before modern day agriculture. By eliminating all the processed food from our diet and gluten our bodies will start to work at their best.

What we CAN eat:
  • Meat (grass feed)
  • Seafood
  • Vegetables (organic)
  • Fruit (organic)
  • Good Fats (Avocados & nuts)
  • Plenty of olive oils, coconut oil and coconut milk.
What we CANNOT eat:
  • Processed foods
  • Dairy
  • Grains
  • Sugars and artificial sweeteners
  • Legumes

To sum it all up we eat gluten free, dairy free, and sugar free (and no artificial or substitute sugars like Splenda, Stevia, or whatever else.) Nothing from a box or a can and nothing that has additives and preservatives. If you'd like to know more about the science behind Paleo you can find more info at everydaypaleo.com and thepaleodiet.com.

Nory:
I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 23 years old. After struggling through infertility treatments with no results, I finally found a doctor that found my real problem, I had PCOS and was insulin intolerant. Now 26 years old, I have been constantly struggling with my PCOS and trying to find ways to help me with this diagnosis and lose the unwanted weight and get my body back to the way it should be. Since eating Paleo I feel so much better, no need to count calories nor measure my food, simply eat clean food prepared naturally and forget about the rest. I am finally focusing on health rather than a number on the scale. I cannot wait to continue to share my continued success and achievements since eating Paleo.

Melvin:
As a male in his mid twenties and trying everything to lose weight and be healthy with no luck, I chose to start living Paleo. With the benefits of living Paleo and the things I could eat (i.e. bacon and meat) it was almost impossible to resists. Please join us in our journey as we start living Paleo and leave the American way of eating behind.

Have a great day!
Nory and Melvin
